This gorgeous couple was surrounded by friends and family for their destination wedding at Reflections at the Pond in Canton, NC. They could not have had a better fall day in the mountains of western North Carolina to celebrate them saying “I do!”

When I arrived at Reflections at the Pond for Blair and Derek’s wedding, the sun was shining brightly without a cloud in the sky. It was a beautiful fall day with mild temperatures and a light breeze. The trees were showing their gorgeous late season colors, providing a canopy of shade below them. The ceremony space was bustling with worker bees from Honeysuckle Mountain Design placing flowers, church pews, lanterns, and other decor. It was a wonderful sight on such a special day for Blair and Derek.

As I walked the property saying hello to all who I passed, I took a few minutes to soak in the scenery. Reflections at the Pond has many amenities to offer, and one of my favorites is that’s it’s nestled in a high valley with a large pond, and mountain views from atop the knoll. The gorgeous great hall with it’s grand fireplace, large porch, rocking chairs, and open feel is absolutely stunning, too. It was truly a perfect fit for Blair and Derek’s destination wedding, and they thought so, too! So much so, that they booked it sight unseen and were enamored by it’s beauty when they arrived.

As the afternoon progressed, it was time for me to begin documenting the day. When I stepped inside the on site house where the girls were getting ready, I found them putting the finishing touches on their hair and makeup. They were laughing, sharing stories, having a great time, and were excited for the big event. From their dresses to their jewelry, they all looked fabulous! 

Soon we headed outside to capture the wedding party under the gorgeous and colorful trees. The guys looked sharp in their gray tuxedos and complimented the girls in their navy blue dresses perfectly. I quickly learned that this was a wedding party who loved to have fun! Their funny comments and actions were a great way to keep the feeling light and celebratory. 

Throughout the rest of the day I had a great time with Blair, Derek, their family, and friends. The ceremony was heartfelt and full of love and laughter, with sweetest of kisses to make it official. The reception was a blast with everyone enjoying themselves throughout the delicious dinner, loving toasts and all night dancing. It was truly a fantastic destination wedding here in our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
