These two love birds shared an intimate ceremony creekside and among the trees at Bradley Creek Falls Lodge and Event Center! Their entire day was a perfect reflection of them- peaceful, fun, immersed in nature, and surrounded by those they love.
When Jenn and Kelly first met with me about their wedding photography, they were a bit unsure about how they envisioned their day. After talking through ideas with them, they landed on a peaceful, very intimate ceremony on private property, among tall tress and a rushing waterfall. I could immediately see joy in their faces when discussion this option, and knew it was perfect for them!
On the day of their wedding I met them at the reception venue in Brevard, Bradley Creek Falls Lodge and Event Center. An afternoon storm had just blown through, not 10 minutes before I arrived. The air was cool, the clouds were opening up to sunshine and I could feel the welcoming energy that Jenn, Kelly, and their loved ones project! We drove together to the ceremony site with their attendants, and a few family members and friends followed.
As we were walking into the woods to the site they chose, we were greeted with the sound of water, cracking sticks and crunching leaves under our feet, and red rose petals that the officiant, their dear friend Ali, had laid along the path as a surprise for them. Both Jenn and Kelly gasped as they saw the rose petals, feeling the added assurance that they were loved and supported on this day.
During the ceremony Jenn and Kelly stood on a rock bedside the creek, listened to wise words about marriage, peace, and love, completed a handfasting ceremony, and my favorite of all- spoke their shared vows in unison to one another. I LOVE this idea! Having my husband and I share the same vows on my wedding day was extremely important to me. I am a big believer that all people are equal, and no one has pre determined roles. Each person brings their uniqueness to a marriage, however our promises and commitments are the same. Jenn and Kelly saying identical vows at the same time felt unifying and unbreakable! I loved it! Lastly, they shared their first kiss as a married couple while their guests cheered and the trees waved in the wind. It was a perfect ceremony, in a perfect location for these two!
After the ceremony we captured couples photos near the creek and headed back to the reception venue where Jenn and Kelly were greeted by dozens more guests ready to celebrate them! They shared toasts, dinner, dancing, a camp fire, and much more. It was an incredible ending to a beautiful wedding day!
Congratulations, Jenn + Kelly! Thank you for asking me to be a part of your big day! ♥
