First let me start by saying that I absolutely love photographing this beautiful little family. They are always a blast to work with, are a ton of fun in front of my lens (and behind my lens because let’s be honest about photographing little ones- parents are always singing and dancing behind me to bring out the big smiles!), and they share their love with one another truly and fully. This session was no different. We arrived at Biltmore Estate, right here in Asheville, for an early morning session which is my favorite time of the day here. This is my favorite time of day for photos at Biltmore because few guests have arrived, the grounds are quiet and untouched from the overnight stillness, and as soon as I step out of the car I feel an overwhelming sense of peace. There is something about this place early in the morning that settles not only me, but my clients, too.
In the weeks leading up to our session we decided that photos in the Walled Garden were ideal. We knew that we would be close to perfect bloom for Biltmore Blooms and thankfully, we were spot on! The blooms in the walled garden were perfectly full and beautiful for sweet Elizabeth’s photos! Her light green and white dress popped wonderfully in contrast to the deep hues of the flowers and green grass.
As soon as we sat Elizabeth down in the garden she was ready with her big beautiful smile! Her Daddy’s singing, Mommy’s dancing, and a few favorite tunes had her wiggling in delight. We took advantage of this happy time and brought in some family heirlooms like her Daddy’s childhood bunny and easter basket, and family pearls. All were a perfect complement to this spring photo session.
We also took some time to capture family photos, as well as photos of Elizabeth with her Daddy, and then with her Mommy. The dynamic between a child and each parent is always slightly different, so I love taking a moment to capture those special bonds. Sweet snuggles with Mommy and fun playtime with Daddy will change over the years, and I love capturing it at each stage and capturing a family growing together.
As you can see, Elizabeth did a wonderful job for her 8 month photos. Biltmore Estate holds a special place in this family’s hearts and I was honored to capture this special time for them.
