Goodness y’all! This mountain top proposal was beyond beautiful! The planning, the sunset, the reactions, the emotion- all of it! I absolutely loved being there to capture these special moments! 

When John first contacted me about his proposal idea, I immediately fell in love with it! He wanted a location with incredible mountain views, a gorgeous sunset, and nothing more. He loved the simplicity of being in nature, and I had the perfect place in mind- Craggy Pinnacle. It’s beyond gorgeous on the pinnacle, quiet, and it makes most people feel like they are on top of the world! What better place is there for a marriage proposal?

During the planning, I learned that John and Lexie live in Texas and were traveling to the Asheville area to spend some time with John’s family, who live nearby in Hendersonville. While they were here, John wanted to propose in our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to the love of his life, Lexie. He had one obstacle that he needed to tell me about though, and it was a big one. He told me that the engagement ring he ordered for Lexie may not be delivered before they had to leave for their trip. What?!? He then assured me that he had a back up plan, and that it was more important for him to propose in these beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, than to have the real ring to present to Lexie. His back up plan was to bring a ring that is typically used for costume jewelry. Though this was a wonderful idea, he thankfully received the ring just before they left on their trip to head to Asheville. Whew! I would have been overjoyed as always to photograph John’s proposal to Lexie with the costume ring, however I am grateful that he was able to secure Lexie’s true engagement ring for even more special photographs. 

The photographs we took on the top of Craggy Pinnacle were just that- gorgeous and special. Lexie was truly surprised by John’s proposal and both showed how much they cared for one another through their tears, smiles, and embraces. It was a beautiful proposal with just enough daylight left for some engagement photos after, right there at Craggy Pinnacle.
