This summer solstice wedding at The Esmeralda Inn was beyond amazing! It was beautifully set in a little garden with a natural branch arbor that held the most gorgeous floral centerpiece, all while sitting just below Chimney Rock. It was truly incredible!
Kim and Jay are one of my couples who started planning their wedding long before the coronavirus pandemic. Yes, the pandemic did force them to change their plans a bit and cut their guest list, and yes, they had to roll with the punches. What it left them with though, was pure beauty! They got to spend their day getting ready together in the cutest little cabin next to a waterfall and creek, they were still able to share their wedding ceremony and reception with some of their favorite local friends, and most importantly, they said “I do!” on their scheduled date with lots of love surrounding them. It could not have been any sweeter!
On the day of their wedding when I arrived at The Esmeralda Inn the ground was wet from a quick and heavy rainstorm, the sun was shining, and the air was cool. It was an absolutely beautiful summer afternoon for a wedding, and I could not wait to get started photographing! For me, this was my first wedding back after the pandemic and I was so excited to be back doing what I love! The grounds at The Esmeralda Inn are absolutely stunning and I could not have wished for a more beautiful venue to kick off the summer wedding season!
As I began my day with Jay and Kim we captured getting ready photos in their honeymoon cabin, followed by their first look. It was incredible to see their excitement for their first look and how it carried through to all aspects of their day. From walking down the aisle to the altar together, through their first kiss and couples photos, and finally through their reception, their excitement never wavered. They donned the biggest smiles throughout their entire wedding day and it was so sweet to capture! I loved their cute little looks, sweet nuzzles, and stolen kisses of which were all accompanied by their big, happy, wedding day smiles!
Congratulations Kim and Jay!
Spending the afternoon running around with cameras in hand while capturing Kim + Jay's big day truly rejuvenated my soul after this long pandemic! I LOVE being in action and capturing the love and connection people share! I am so happy to be back!
