Biltmore Estate is a truly magical place in Asheville, NC, especially in the spring. With fresh blooms and pops of bright green leaves and grass, it’s amazing! Of course I love it there any day of the year, but proposal days are my favorite!

Just last week, early on a Saturday morning, Jon gave a gorgeous ring to Kaitlyn while standing in a beautiful historic garden and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. That’s undoubtedly magical and it was such an honor to be there to capture it!

A few weeks ago Jon contacting me and asked me to capturing his proposal photography with Kaitlyn. They had plans to travel from out of town and spend the weekend in the Asheville area. He knew they were spending one of their days at Biltmore Estate, and thought that would be the perfect spot to propose. He was right! After learning a bit more about the two of them and sending him a few location options at Biltmore, he chose the Italian Garden. It’s always a beautiful spot, but when the green grass and green leaves are just starting to arrive in the spring, the bright pop of green against the blue mountains makes it so very incredible!

As he and Kaitlyn walked along the statues and coy ponds, I pretended to take photos of the nearby architecture so that I wouldn’t be noticed. I could tell that Jon was a little nervous as he drew nearer and pulled Kaitlyn in close to him. He said a few sweet words, dropped down on one knee, and completely surprised Kaitlyn. Her reaction was priceless and it was oh so amazing! They both were filled with immense joy and Kaitlyn absolutely loved the ring that Jon picked out! It is beautiful!

As we walked around the estate capturing more engagement photos for them, I heard a few stories about the events that led up to the proposal, and how excited they both were. We wandered into the walled garden that was full of tulips and daffodils to capture even more of their love. Kaitlyn’s blue and floral dress was the perfect addition to this spring garden and her ring twinkled in the light like they were meant to be there in that moment!

It was truly one of the sweetest proposals and I loved being a part of it! Congratulations, Kaitlyn + Jon! Your proposal was beautiful!
