Spending the last couple of weeks in southwest Montana has been absolutely amazing! It’s truly fed my traveling soul and filled my hiking and biking heart with amazing experiences almost daily. This working vacation could not have been a better fit for my husband and I, and I absolutely LOVE that I connected with a couple of families to capture their epic vacation photos while they are in this part of the country, too!
Over the weekend I met the Johnson family along the Gallatin River just outside of Big Sky, MT for an early morning family photo shoot. We could not have had better weather! In this part of the country the days are hot, but the nights get quite cold. The morning we met was cool, but not too cold, the sun hid perfectly behind the mountain range to the east, and the shallow river we stood beside was quiet without a fisherman in sight. I could not have planned a better morning!
Plus, this spot we chose for family photos near Big Sky was incredibly gorgeous! With the Gallatin River winding through the tall lodgepole pine trees, the rocks peeking out of the shallow riverbed, a mountain ridge in the background, and a few low hanging clouds giving extra dimension, it was beyond beautiful! I could have stayed in this single spot for weeks and have been so very happy!
During our photo session we captured sweet Kashtyn’s 6 month photos, full family photos, and fun photos of the kids playing with baby Kashtyn. We even took a few minutes to capture Mom and Dad loving on baby Kashtyn to help document this special time. Everyone did a fabulous job for the photos and I had a wonderful time with this adventurous family who were happy to get up early, stand with their toes in a cold river, and share their love in front of my camera!
Thank you, Johnson Family, for a fabulous vacation photo shoot!
