This sunrise photo shoot with Livy and Ken was absolutely gorgeous! The soft morning light glowed around this beautiful couple, the views were amazing, and these two are so in love!

Often, mountain view photo shoots involve a hike, meeting before dawn, or in this case, making a last second change of location due to weather. We planned to meet at Craggy Gardens Visitor Center and hike to Craggy Flats, but when we arrived, the clouds were hanging too low for us to catch any views in the Craggy area. The fog was thick, with no end in sight. Since mountain view photos were important to Livy and Ken, I suggested we head back down in elevation and find an overlook with mountain views to capture their engagement photos. I know this was not ideal in that moment, but goodness it was gorgeous!! The overlook we chose on the Blue Ridge Parkway did not disappoint! It was beautifully lit on that morning with glowing soft light, and these two truly rocked their engagement photos!

Since viewing overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, NC aren’t very large, we kept to one end of it so that others could enjoy the views, too. It was so beautiful that in this one portion of the overlook, we captured a full engagement session! Asphalt, guard rail, cars, and all! Livy and Ken are so in love that it didn’t matter where we were, it only mattered that they were together, having fun! We captured so much of their love in the soft morning sunlight, and I loved every minute of it!
