A sunrise mountain top proposal is always a sure way to make my heart happy! Brae planned the most beautiful surprise proposal for Maly, and I LOVED capturing every minute of it! 

Brae’s sunrise engagement proposal on the Craggy Pinnacle mountain summit just outside Asheville, NC was so incredibly beautiful! I LOVED how he brought Maly on a sunrise hike and then casually hung out at the top of the mountain watching the day break. While waiting for the sun to come up a little higher, Maly was singing songs and being silly with his favorite person, and little did he know that his favorite person was about to drop down on one knee and ask a BIG question! It was incredible to listen to them in their pure happiness, and it was such a lovely surprise proposal that ended with a big “Yes!” Maly was utterly surprised, and I adored being a small part of it!

After the proposal, we captured more engagement photos in the sun’s rising light. It was such a clear and colorful sunrise, which is a treat on a mountain top! When we’re at higher elevations like Craggy Gardens and Craggy Pinnacle, mornings are often greeted with heavy fog. On this particular morning though, Mother Nature gave us a beautiful sight! We used this gorgeous morning light with clear long range views and captured beautiful photos of Maly and Brae with the mountains and ridges behind them. It was beautiful!

You all know that I love hiking and being outside, so when I have a couple who wants to pair their sweet engagement proposal with a hike, I am beyond thrilled! It doesn’t matter to me if I have to wake up at 5AM and hike to the top of a mountain (like I did for this proposal), I am in! There is something extra sweet about a surprise proposal while on a hike, and this one was the sweetest!
