Lera and Justin’s proposal at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC was absolutely beautiful! We had the entire lagoon to ourselves, and these two cuties were beyond excited for this moment! I loved capturing every minute of this!

Justin contacted me a couple of days before the proposal, and knew exactly what he wanted his big moment to look like. He knew that he wanted to propose at Biltmore’s lagoon because this is a spot that he and Lera always visit when they are in town. He also knew that he wanted to propose around sunset and on which day. I LOVE that Justin knew exactly what he wanted so that it could be as personal and special to them as possible. Plus, I always love the lagoon for photos, especially proposal photos!

On the evening of the proposal, I was set up and ready for them a bit early, as I always am. Once they arrived and parked their car, I blended in and pretended to take photos of the surrounding trees, greenery, lagoon, etc. Then, as Justin and Lera walked past me, Justin said “I blew it and already told her!” My first thought was “Whaaaaat? After all of this planning?!” Then, I saw the HUGE smiles on their faces and realized that Justin was simply too excited to keep this big news to himself! He had to tell his best friend and favorite person, because he loves her so much and cannot contain his excitement! Once I saw this, I completely understood why he told her. My husband is my absolute best friend, and when I have something exciting happening, even if it’s a surprise for him, it is so very hard not to tell him or talk to him about it. I get it, it’s love!

Justin’s proposal went on seamlessly. He got down on one knee, he lovingly held Lera’s hand, and he spoke his sweet words to her before sliding the gorgeous engagement ring on her finger. This proposal was very special and very sweet! Honestly, I wouldn’t have changed a thing! Lera’s excitement was over the top in the best way, and I loved photographing this amazing time for them!
