What a treat it was to capture Kaitlyn and Patrick’s engagement photos at two locations on such a beautiful evening! The mix of mountain views and beautiful sunset made for a magical engagement photo session in Asheville, NC!

For this session, Kaitlyn and Patrick requested two locations- one with epic mountain views, and their wedding venue, which has big open spaces and mountain views in the distance. I loved their request! It’s okay to request two locations, especially when they’re both so meaningful!

We started our session at an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside of Asheville, NC called Lane Pinnacle Overlook. It’s a beautiful spot at almost 4,000 feet of elevation with those epic mountain views that Kaitlyn and Patrick were looking for. It was fairly late in the day, so the sun created beautiful shadows in the saddles of the ridge that was in the background of the photos. Shadows in the saddles give mountain photographs a lot of dimension and I love it!

As we captured Kaitlyn and Patrick’s engagement photos at Lane Pinnacle Overlook, they told the story about how they met and their first date, and told me about their wedding vision that was coming to life. I LOVED hearing their story and as they talked more about their wedding venue, I got very excited to see it with them as our next location.

When we arrived at their wedding venue, Emerald Ridge Farm & Events, which is located just outside Asheville, NC in Weaverville, I was blown away by the wide open spaces and gorgeous sunset! It felt like we were in a perfect valley to continue their session in the place that they will soon be married.

Throughout our session, Kaitlyn and Patrick let their love shine in front of my camera. These two share a seriously strong bond, and the inside jokes are endless, in the most amazing way! Their laughter, hugs, snuggles, and BIG love were so very incredible to capture, and I loved every minute of it!
